Gary Curneen

Gary Curneen - Founder

Gary Curneen is the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at California State University Bakersfield. Gary holds a UEFA ‘A’ License from the Irish FA and a Premier Diploma from the NSCAA. Gary also gained a Master’s in Business Administration from Wingate University, where he coached the Lady Bulldogs to a 95-48- 8 record along with their first ever SAC Championship and place in the NCAA Tournament. In 2013 he worked as the Assistant Coach at University of Cincinnati. Gary is the author of the acclaimed best-selling coaching books: The Modern Soccer Coach 2014: A Four Dimensional Approach, The Modern Soccer Coach: Position-Specific Training, and The Modern Soccer Coach: Pre-Season Training.

Clifton Bush

Clifton Bush - Director

Clifton holds a USSF ‘B’ License and National GK License from NSCAA. After working the 2014 season as a volunteer assistant, Bush was named first assistant in the summer of 2015. Bush, a, California native, brings a long history of college, regional, and academy soccer coaching experience to the CSUB program. One highlight stop prior to CSUB was Clifton’s time on the academy coaching staff for the 2013 NWSL Championship Portland Thorns. At the time the Thorns Academy was one of only two girls programs in the country with a direct connection to a NWSL team. Clifton’s role includes working as the team’s recruiting coordinator, goalkeeper coach, with an added focus on implementing the team’s model of play.
